Menu of the Week

Hey folks!  Are you enjoying the Autumn weather?  It still doesn't feel like Autumn down here in Florida, but a girl can dream, right?  I am already chomping at the bit to add all of the rich stews and soups that the season requires--I'll ignore the weather for now and just roll with it!  Ready for a hearty fall menu?  Here goes:

Sunday: Publix Deli Family Combo Meal (1 Rotisserie chicken OR 8-piece fried chicken, 2 family-sized deli sides, package of Hawaiian rolls, and this week they're throwing in a FREE gallon of Publix sweet tea--all for $9.99! A great alternative to going out.  This meal deal feeds our family of 3 at least twice!)

Monday: Spinach-cheese manicotti and spinach salad

Tuesday: Cranberry Bean Pasta Fagioli  (I'll be substituting red kidney beans for the cranberry beans) and garlic bread

Wednesday: Leftover soup

Thursday: Rigatoni with Braised Chicken and Saffron Cream and poached pears

Friday: Split pea soup (from the freezer) with homemade bread

Saturday: Julia Child’s Boeuf Bourguignon  (My first time making it!  SO excited...)

Here's a hint for the Sweet Treat of the Week:  It falls into the Autumn category, it's rich but tastes light, and you can serve it in many different ways.  Any guesses?

  2. Gina, Publix specials run from Thursday to Wednesday, so this special is good until tomorrow 9/29/10. ;)
